Ready To Launch Your Marketing Campaign? Let's Double Check
It’s easy for a marketing campaign to bomb. In fact, it’s very easy for it to pick up little to no traction, and result in your business taking on no new sales or customers - and very few clicks in the middle.
It’s getting a marketing campaign to go right, achieve results, and get the attention you want that’s difficult.
But did you know that half the battle is all in the finer details? The small things that can interrupt your momentum after everything goes live. That can create frustration for the target audience, and make them click off without doing anything meaningful at all.
These are the kind of things to double check before you launch. Let’s run through a quick checklist of them below, so you can be sure your marketing campaign is genuinely ready to go.
Have You Laid the Right Foundation?
You need to build a marketing blueprint before you do anything else. Without one, you’re not going to have a strong or clear direction for your campaign.
You’re simply not going to have any clear, actionable strategy to follow.
And even when you think you’ve set out a blueprint like this, you need to be sure of the following things:
Have you defined your goals?
You need to know what your marketing campaign is designed to do. You can’t be vague here, or try to create an umbrella marketing campaign.
You need to set specific, reachable goals for each campaign.
Have you defined your audience?
If you’re not speaking to the right people, you’re not going to land any conversions.
You’re not going to create any value with your content. You’re selling to the wrong crowd, and the message you’re putting out simply isn’t resonating with anyone.
Do you know what to do if something goes wrong?
And if you need to change anything about your advertising, or even remove an ad and replace it with another one, do you have a review schedule outlined on your blueprint?
You need to check in with your marketing at least once a week while it’s online, to make sure it’s performing in the way you want it to.
Are Your Ads Linked to the Right Pages?
Making sure your links are correct is one of the basic checks you should carry out before launching marketing content.
If an ad points at the wrong page, or the link is missing a character and leads to an error message, your ad could waste a lot of marketing revenue. You might not even realise it has, as you’re seeing plenty of clicks in your website’s analytics.
So check this before you launch, as it’s often a bit too late to notice a link error once you’ve paid for the ad space.
Any Spelling or Grammar Errors?
They’re not cute, they’re not professional, and they can cause an immediate sense of distrust for your audience.
After all, being able to spell things correctly, as well as format sentences and paragraphs in the right way, are the basics of creating good content.
If it’s not readable, and if it contains typos, your content is going to come off as very poor quality.
Does the Mobile Version Work?
Mobile-friendly website pages and PPC ads need to be a top priority for all marketing teams.
Mobile traffic makes up nearly two thirds of all web traffic, so a phone is likely going to be the main device your audience uses to find you.
But if our content isn’t quite mobile-friendly enough - where it either doesn’t scale right or your website functions are hard to use on a smaller screen - you’re not going to capture any of this attention.
Really, if you put a pop-up for a marketing or messaging list on the homepage, and the box is too big for anyone on mobile to find the ‘X’ in the corner, you’re not getting either their sign up details or any fresh eyes on your website’s content!
Get Your Marketing Campaign Underway without a Problem
Like we said, it’s hard to create a marketing campaign that can ‘do it all’.
But it doesn’t have to be impossible - especially if you’ve prepared in the right way, and given yourself some time to double check a few things before launch.
So, lay the groundwork. Then, check no technical problems are going to crop up. Do a grammar and spelling check, just to be sure. And then let your content be released to the world.
