DNA

The "swirl" in the logo is a nod to the routes of The Business Community being in Northamptonshire, as was the co-proposer of the double helix structure of the DNA molecule: Francis Crick.

Born in Weston Favell, Francis worked with American molecular biologist James Watson proposing their findings in an academic paper in 1953. Together with Watson and Maurice Wilkins, he was jointly awarded the 1962 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine "for their discoveries concerning the molecular structure of nucleic acids and its significance for information transfer in living material".

The networking sessions are always very lively and enjoyable, and I have found many of the additional training sessions invaluable. By far the biggest benefit for me however, is the feeling of community. I really enjoy coming together with others in similar situations and having the opportunity to broaden my business network. Most importantly, no matter how much life gets in the way of me being able to attend meetings, I’ve always been warmly welcomed back into the fold and almost forgotten I was ever away!

I'm a long-term member of a national networking group. I've now also joined BusComm and I'm finding it a breath of fresh air. A very welcoming and supportive atmosphere where the focus seems to be about helping each other instead of sell, sell, sell. BusComm meetings don't take themselves too seriously but are still professional and informative.

BusComm offers structured yet relaxed and friendly networking, but it's so much more than that; the support of fellow businesses is fantastic, through good times they are there to cheer you on and during the more difficult times they are there to offer invaluable practical support. This fantastic community of business owners is second to none. I cannot recommend Paul Green and the Business Community highly enough.
